Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
I greet you in the precious name of our LORD Jesus Christ Whom we serve with JOY!
I write this letter to you on behalf of the majority of the board of directors of the ministry who voted favorably on the resolution to change the name of Moriah Baptist Mission to Jesus’ Mission. I had requested the resolution to change the name of the ministry based on my experience in sharing Jesus to the lost. I realized over time that certain denominational names can be an obstacle that prevents the lost from coming to our LORD. I have prayed for more than two years for that decision. The LORD has granted me favor to choose His name and sharing His Holy Name without fear.
Thousands of Christians are beheaded for the name of our LORD Jesus Christ in the following countries: Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, India, and others. It is time for ministers to stop hiding His Holy name in paper, and the time has come for us to choose His name rather than symbolic names that may not be as clear. This is especially important for places where Christians are meeting for worship.
As you may already know, the name Jesus is derived from the Hebrew -Aramaic word Yeshua meaning “Yaweh” the LORD is salvation. However, the name of Christ is actually a title for Jesus. It comes from the Greek word “Christos,” meaning the Anointed One, or Messiah in Hebrew. The angel’s pronouncement that the child would be called Jesus is full of meaning. The name Jesus means Yahweh saves or Yahweh is salvation. This name is the counterpart of the Old Testament name Joshua Just as Joshua in the Old Testament led Israel out of the wilderness experiences into a new land and new life, so Jesus would lead people out of a spiritual wilderness experience into a new sphere of existence and a new life.
Fellows in Christ, I really need your prayers. I have made a decision to travel to Haiti twice a year to teach the word of our LORD to our pastors, assistant pastors, youth pastors, and Sunday bible studies teachers to stand firm in the teachings of the apostles. Teachings contrary to our faith, such as Islam, are gaining ground and have penetrated several cities in Haiti. Hence, we need to be determined as ever. Jesus’ Mission will lead the way and share the message of Jesus Christ without fear.
Thank you so much for choosing to support Jesus’ Mission in Haiti, any amount is greatly appreciated. Please write your check to the name of Jesus Mission, Inc.
